Betty "Marcie" Garner

Betty Marceline "Marcie" Garner was born January 17, 1929 in Village Arkansas, and passed away July 21, 2012 in Gilmer, Texas, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's. She is preceded in death by her mother, Brunette Shelley; father, Ben Cargle; sister, Bonnie Cargle; and brother, Ben Thomas Cargle.

Marcie is survived by the following: two daughters and sons-in-law, Doretta and Marlin Kinat of Houston, and Paula and Bobby Whorton of Gilmer, Texas; one sister, her twin, Kathleen Johnson of Houston; and one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Mildred Cargle of Houston; eight grandchildren, Kathryn, Karen, Chris, Marla, Morgan, Evan, Aubrey, and Lacey; and two great-grandchildren, Steven and Jessica; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marcie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Gilmer, TX and taught Sunday School there until she became ill.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Heights Funeral Home in Houston. Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway in Houston.
