Mrs. Betty Jo Hightower joyfully found rest with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 11, 2017. Mrs. Hightower is survived by her husband Hollis Hightower Jr., sons Marco Mann, Brandll Mann, Jordan Mann, and Jonathan Mann; Brothers Carlton Nelson and Robert Nelson ; Daughters-in-Law Sandra Mann and Nicole Mann. Grandchildren, Brandll Jr., Xavier, Martel, Vasillis, Dalvin, Jordan Jr., Jakobe, Jonae, Keontrae, Jenifer and Joshua A host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces as well. "Mrs. Betty" (as she was respectfully known), was preceded by her parents, Elijah Nelson and Sarah (formerly Anderson) Nelson of Calvert,Texas ;and, Sister Ruby Jewel, Eunice, and Carol Elaine. Mrs. Hightower retired from the Harris County Hospital District as a hospital administrator, with a brief stint at the U.S. Postal Service. In retirement she served dutifully as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt. A spiritual woman, she believed in the Lord with all that she was, fervently. Family was of the utmost importance to her and she most certainly lived a part of her life keeping her family together. A primary guiding principle in her life was, "treat people like you want to be treated"...."Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you". She believed and and stated often The Golden Rule. Mrs Hightower enjoyed crosswords, gospel music and again, being surrounded by family and friends. She was a beautiful, spiritual being and she brought joy, comfort, wisdom, and positivity into everyone she came in contact with. She was a joyful soul, a ray of light and will certainly be missed by all. Romans 8; 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
