Betty Jean Newcomb, age 79, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014. Born in Houston, Texas, she was a talented artist and piano player who taught school in the Aldine Independent School District for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Newcomb, Sr., and her parents Charlie and Rosie Allen. Survived by longtime companion, Barbara “Bobbi” Harris of Lufkin, Texas; son, H. Newcomb and wife Sandy of Houston, Texas; daughters, Cheryl Pattat and husband Thomas of Anderson, Indiana, Darlene Baldearena of San Antonio, Texas, and Cat Evans and partner Dee Dee Bolton of Ferriday, Louisiana; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister, Gloria Byley and husband Clifton. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday October 20, 2014 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday October 21, 2014 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven.
