

Having grown up in the military family, she attended a few grade schools and then went to high school in Frankfurt, Germany and Leavenworth, Kansas finishing in 1960. Then on to Kansas State for three years, until she and Bob got married at Fort Leavenworth in 1963. She said that she had been after him since she was 13. On to Houston in 1963 where their one bedroom apartment was $114 per month with bills paid. So Bob told her she needed to get a job. After a couple of short term jobs including one year as a math teacher at Rogers Junior High, she was Executive Director of the Greater Houston Hospital Council for 10 years. Then in 1982 she became a State Farm Insurance Agent for 32 years until she retired in 2014.
She loved gardening, reading, sewing and the Stock Market but most of all she loved her pets. Over the years she had two cats Lago 16 yrs, Katy 17 yrs and five dogs Cindy 11 yrs, Willie 12 yrs, Bermuda 12 yrs, Bogie 14 yrs. and Tux 16 yrs.
She and Bob lived in Spring Valley Village for the past 46 years and also enjoyed a small beach house in Galveston for 26 years. She loved to walk the dogs on the beach or just sit on the deck and watch the waves.
She encouraged Bob to play golf and that took them to Mexico, Canada, Italy, France, Wales, Ireland, England and her favorite country, Scotland, 14 times.
Thanks to the staff at The Forum at Memorial Woods for taking care of her for the past 3 years. A special thanks to her caregivers. Among them were Jeanette, Lannie, Comfort and Stephanie.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bob; sister, Barbara; sister-in-law, Trish and 6 nieces and nephews.
Among others she supported, Citizens for Animal Protection (CAPS), Seed Savers, and Urban Harvest.
