

Devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, Billie Ryan Landes, passed away surrounded by family on March 27, 2024. He was born on September 6, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and preceded in death by father, Millard, and mother, Naomi. Bill had a penchant for life, and a genuine love for people and laughter.
A proud graduate of Furr High School, Bill went on to pursue his education at The University of Houston, where he earned a Bachelor of Science. He eventually enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served 4 years, and was stationed near Cambodia as a radar man aboard the USS Canberra during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable service, Bill returned to the civilian workforce where he served 36 years in the oil and gas industry with Williams Companies. He was also a dedicated coach, football official, and mentor.
Bill is survived by his rock and loving wife, Norma (Jeanie) Landes, of 55 years, where, together, they built a family and a legacy of love that will endure through their children, Jenifer Koon and husband Larry, Theresa Tate, Jake Landes, Ginger Landes; and his sister, Marilyn Matzig.
An avid sports enthusiast, Bill's passion for hunting, fishing, football, and crossword puzzles brought joy to his life and those around him. His grandchildren, Matthew Landes, Amber and Brittany Koon, Rebecca Khunert, Travis and Emma Landes, Audrey Taylor, Bruce, Blaire, and Delilah Crum
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring Bill’s life. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and laid to rest on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. An additional visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, prior to the service on the 8th.
