Bishop Jimmie Lee Parker, Sr. was born in Silsbee, Texas, the only child to Jack Parker and Lizzie O’Neal, on August 30, 1920. Bishop Parker and his family later moved to Humble, Texas (Bordersville) where he was educated and later met his first wife, Ms. Pearlie Mae Williams. They were married on April 15, 1939. To this union, nine children were born, seven boys and two girls. In 1993, the Lord called Mother Pearlie Parker home after 54 years of marriage. This was a great devastation to Bishop Parker but he continued carrying out the Lord’s work. The Lord knew that his servant needed a help meet and in 2001, he chose Ms. Julia O’Gilvie Holley to be his wife. This union blessed Bishop Parker with two additional sons. The Lord saved Bishop Parker at an early age (10 years) and since that time, he has dedicated his life to God. He was chosen of God to preach the Gospel and has been preaching the Word of God for over seventy-five (75) years. Through his ministry, countless souls have been saved and many have joined him in the Gospel. For over sixty-six (66) years, he has founded and pastored Bibleway Church of Holiness, beginning in 1950 on Peach Tree Street, later moving to Evella Street in 1953, and then to it’s current location, 6201 Hirsch Road, in the year 1958. Bishop Parker is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Pearlie Mae Parker; three sons Harold, Gerald and one son who died at birth. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Ann Parker; four sons Jimmie Jr. (Bee), Kenneth (Lisa), Donnie and Reginald (Janet); two daughters Virginia and Sheryl; two stepsons Sammy III (Sandra) and Stacey (Tina); one sister Doris; daughter-in-law Hattie; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
