Bobbie Jean Stewart

Bobbie Jean Miller-Stewart, 86, of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 16, 2026 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born on May 6, 1940, in Etoile, Texas, to Harvey Miller and Almarene King, where she lived and went to school until she turned 18 years old. Upon her High School graduation, where she was awarded a Secretarial scholarship, Bobbie moved to Houston and pursued a career in Secretarial work for Gulf Oil Co. in Downtown Houston.

Bobbie was a devoted and loving wife to her beloved husband, Jerry Stewart, for 57 years, a wonderful mother to her son, Brian Stewart and daughter, Julie Stewart Mitchell.

She enjoyed reading, sewing, listening to and singing along with Gospel and worship music, spending time with her family whom she loved dearly and traveling the world with her husband, Jerry. Bobbie was a humble and patient mother, wife, grandmother and friend to many and her beautiful spirit and presence will be missed by all who loved her. She loved to serve the Lord and truly embodied Proverbs 31 in every way.

She is preceded in death by her beloved Husband, Jerry Paton Stewart, father, Harvey Miller, mother, Almarene King, brother, Barham Miller, sister, Dixie Wilson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and many friends.

Bobbie is survived by her son, Brian Stewart, daughter, Julie Stewart Mitchell (Brad); her Grandchildren, Ashton Mitchell, Amelia Mitchell Carvajal (Marcelo), Haleigh Mitchell, Mason Mitchell and Marleigh Mitchell. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren, Blaire Carvajal, Wyatt Carvajal and was expecting a new great grandson, Creek Wilson, in December 2026.

Bobbie's life was a beautiful testimony of faithfulness, perseverance, grace, love and a true servants heart. She remained strong in spirit and body through every trial that came her way and stood on the Godly principles she believed in, unwavering. We rejoice in knowing that she received her crown of glory, is dancing on streets of gold and is reunited with the love of her life again in Heaven.

Visitation will be held at Bethel Tabernacle, 1020 FM 1960, Houston, TX 77090, on July 22, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Historic Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N Main St, Houston, TX 77009, on July 22, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
