

Bonnie Evelyn Ball Dippel, age 95, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017. She was proud of being a native Houstonian and a fifth generation Texan and was a long time member of the Lutheran Church. A member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, she was also the first woman in Houston to be inducted in the newly formed W.A.V.E.S. in 1942. She served in Admiral King’s headquarters in Washington D.C., he was the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. It was there that she met and married Conrad Dippel, who was also serving in the Navy. They had a long and eventful life together, but where ever they lived or traveled, Houston was always home to her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Conrad Dippel. Survived by son, Conrad Dippel; daughter, Candice Dippel Carrigan; grandchildren, Tiffany Dippel Endsley, Cristina Carrigan, and John Carrigan; long time caregiver and dearest friend, Oma Johnson; special granddaughter and BFF, Sarah; nephew, Tom Ball; and niece, Annette Martin. A special Thank you is sent out to St. Luke Hospital Doctors and Nurses and to Vantage Hospice Care Team for their special care. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2017 at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060.
