He is survived by Dolores, his wife of 48 years, his son Kevin and wife Amy, granddaughters Emma and Molly Parker of Garland, TX, his son Brad and wife Rachel and grandson Kyle Parker of Pearland, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Pat White and Karen Boehm, and his son, Eric Eugene Parker. He was very involved with his sons, including coaching them in soccer over a great many years. He spent the early part of his career in the convenience store business with U-totem, Stop-and-go, Sunny's/Rangers Food Markets and finally building and operating his own business beginning with Diamond Market near Pecan Grove in Richmond, Texas. In later years, he owned and operated his family's business, Outdoor Equipment Company. He and Dolores loved to travel; his favorite trip was to Alaska in 2011. They enjoyed their many trips to Las Vegas throughout the years. Another favorite past-time was playing dominoes (Texas 42) at family gatherings. He loved his grandchildren, especially playing games with his granddaughters and going fishing with his grandson. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center of Houston in his memory (donation instructions can be found here - http://www.houston.va.gov/giving/).
