

Camille Marie Mascari Sumner, 83, passed away on July 17, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. She was born into a large Italian family to the late Angelo and Lena Mascari, January 31, 1931, in New Orleans, LA. At 16 years of age, her family moved to Houston, TX where she met her beloved husband of 63 years, Charles H. Sumner. It was a marriage made in Heaven that produced 6 children, 20 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. Camille dedicated her life to her husband and family. She also loved trips to the casino, reading, and completing projects on the computer.
Camille is preceded in death by her parents, her brother and his wife, Vincent and Sylvia Mascari and by her godson, Donald Morbeck Sumner, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Charles, and their children, Charles and Karen Beth Sumner, Cynthia and Jack MacKinnon, Carol Hartley, Cheryl and David Cook, Caren and Michael Neuman, and Cathleen and Michael Wheir. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, Charles, Nick, and Kirk Sumner, John (wife Jerri), Lee, Patricia, Cathleen, and Jessica MacKinnon, Dylan and Adam Hartley, Michael and Megan Cook, Melesa Cook Peckhaus (husband Dirk), Kelli, Emily, and Sam Neuman, Stephen, Andrew, Christopher, and Caroline Wheir and one great grandchild Elizabeth Sherrod who their “MawMaw” loved dearly. Camille also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
