Carlos was born on October 27, 1953, in Cerralvo, Nuevo León, Mexico, to Carlos Maldonado Salazar and Juliana Aviles de Maldonado. He was raised in his hometown, where he attended and proudly graduated from Eusebio de la Cueva. He then went on to pursue part of his higher education in Monterrey, Mexico. He married Felipa Duran De Maldonado in 1974, and together they moved from Mexico to Houston, Texas, where they built a loving home. Through the years, they shared a strong partnership and raised six children, creating a family centered on love, hard work, and support for one another. Carlos was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving grandfather who found his greatest fulfillment in providing for and supporting his family.
Throughout his life, he was known as a hardworking, responsible and dedicated man who always put his family first. He worked for many years as an Operator at Jacob Stern & Sons, where he took great pride in his work before retiring.
One of his greatest joys was working on his ranch in Mexico, where he felt most at peace. He enjoyed caring for his animals, especially his cows, and took pride in the land he worked so hard to maintain. Being outdoors and surrounded by nature brought him great happiness and fulfillment. The ranch was more than just land to him—it was a place where he found purpose, reflected on life, and created lasting memories with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Felipa Maldonado. He also leaves behind his children and their spouses, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Maldonado Salazar; his mother, Juliana Aviles De Maldonado; and his sister, Maria De La Luz Izarraras.
He will be remembered as a kind, strong, and generous man, whose warmth and open heart welcomed family and friends. His gentle spirit and unwavering support left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
