She is survived by her children William Delp Bradbury III (Cindy), Charles Culpepper Bradbury, Carmel Jeanne Bradbury (Cyd), John Alton Bradbury (Janet), seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving her sister Gretchen Culpepper Weinstein and brother-in-law Andy Weinstein in The Woodlands, Texas and too many cousins, nieces and nephews to count.
After graduating from Milan High School in Milan, Tennessee, she pursued a nursing degree from the University of Tennessee Nursing School. She suspended her studies short of graduation when an opportunity came to travel to Japan where she ultimately met her husband of almost 51 years Captain William Delp Bradbury Jr, US Army.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, mother Carmel Ann Stivender Culpepper and father Master Sgt. Charles Abner Culpepper, USMC.
Carmel loved church and children and worked at the nursery school at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Charleston, West Virginia for many years. Carmel also loved art and music. She played the guitar, piano and sang with the youth choirs. Most of all she loved her family.
The family is grateful for the care and support provided by her friends and the ladies from Visiting Angels who provided comfort in her last few months of life.
