Carolyn "Ann" Toliver-Carter, was born on February 20, 1957 in Crockett, Texas to the late Napoleon Toliver Sr. and Esther Mae Toliver. She attended Forest Brook Senior High School in the North Forest Independent School District and graduated in 1974. She was employed with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) where she was greatly loved and respected by numerous colleagues and friends. With the blessing of being raised in a loving Christian home, Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. Her faith was grounded at New Commandment Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend David Foster. She later united her membership with Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Edwin A. Davis where she was an active member of the Voices of Galilee, The Scholarship Ministry and a part of the Culinary Staff until she transitioned into her heavenly home. "Ann" as she was affectionately known, was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her beautiful spirit was felt with just one encounter. She was considered a "fashionista" with her love of shoes and purses. On Saturday, January 28, 2017, God requested the presence of Carolyn into her eternal peace. She was preceded in death by her father, Napolean Toliver Sr. and sister, Mary Elizabeth Toliver as well as two nieces. She leaves beautiful memories with her husband, Ricky Carter; her mother, Esther Mae Toliver; her son, Markey Toliver Sr. (Shenetha); her stepsons, Elbert Carter and GaMarcus Carter; her grandchildren, Breanna Toliver, Markey Toliver Jr. and Marsean Toliver; her siblings, John Johnson (Rose), Esther Rose Toliver, Napolean Toliver Jr. (Burlean), Brendia Toliver, Kenneth Toliver, Ethel Sam (Bernard), Cheryl Toliver; her god children, Hailey Parks, Skylar Parks, Adrian Murchison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
