Born on April 10, 1952, to Anita and Melvin Schultz, Carolyn grew up alongside her brothers, Michael and Mark. During her junior high years, she met the love of her life, Donnie Hill, whom she later dated through high school. Their bond endured through the years, and following her graduation from San Jacinto College with a nursing degree in 1972, Carolyn and Donnie married and began a lifelong journey together filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
Carolyn’s passion for caring for others guided her throughout her 45-year nursing career. She began at Southeast Memorial Hospital, later joined Surgicare, and ultimately found her home at Gramercy Outpatient Surgery Center, where she retired in 2017. Her dedication, compassion, and steady kindness touched countless lives—both patients and colleagues alike.
After retirement, Carolyn and Donnie enjoyed traveling to many destinations and spending time at their beloved beachfront condo in Galveston. In her later years, her greatest joy came from time spent with her five cherished grandchildren, who brought light and laughter to her days.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Donnie Hill; her children Alan Hill and Lisa Hoffpauir (Bryan); and her grandchildren Connor (17), Collin (13), and Ella Hill (11), and Evan (16) and Will Hoffpauir (13). She is also survived by her brothers Michael Schultz (Becky) and Mark Schultz (Daryle), along with many dear friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
