Carolyn O'Bannion

Carolyn Marie Gartman O’Bannion died on August 30, 2019 peacefully at home. Carolyn worked as executive assistant and bookkeeper for over10 years in the Davis CPA firm. She interrupted her career after marriage to Fred. She stayed home to focus on her family and raising her children. She went back to work and was employed by CFISD for over 25 years as a special education paraprofessional until her death. During this time, she earned an associates of elementary education degree. She has been an active member at Northwest 4 Square Church and its previous incarnations for over 40 years. She had an incessant love for babies and small children.

Carolyn was preceded in death by: Father, Harvey Gartman; Mother, Frances L. Gartman Mom/Grandmother Callie Frances Gartman and Father-in-law, Kenneth O’Bannion. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Carter; husband of 39 years, Fred; their children Leonard and Christopher; Leo’s family; wife, Heather Diane (Di); and their children Savanah 4 and Ethan 17 months. She also has numerous cousins and their families to count among her many acquaintances and friends.

Visitation will be at Earthman Resthaven 13102 North Freeway Houston, TX 77060 on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service will be at the Earthman Resthaven chapel on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 10:00am with burial following also at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to The American Kidney Fund or The American Cancer Society.
