
I have far too many memories of sweet Susie to share them all with you today, However, there is one "special" memory that begs to be told. 

Years ago while on my way to work, I would drive by the Veselka's home every day. Without fail the lovely couple  sat on their porch waving and wishing me, (and all neighbors whether walking or driving by)  a good day. This was their ritual.  Because I lived so close by, I rarely saw one without the other and looked forward to our morning encounters. They were a "Happy" couple.  And, made everyone else who came into contact with them, equally as happy. It was after all the "Veselka Way," and my life is forever changed and far better after having known them. 

I can clearly see George (Senior) as he waited for his lovely Susie to get to Heaven on Easter Sunday. Together they can continue to sit together on a golden bench; waving to everyone they see ... happy, smiling and once again filled with good wishes of all. 

I have always found Susie to be an "adorable character," clever, extremely quick-witted and loyal. Know that I am only a short walk or phone call away and that my prayers, thoughts and love are with you, always. 

To the Veselka family, I am saddened and so sorry for your loss. How fitting it is that she be called home on Easter Sunday; the day of her Resurrection. And though she is gone, surely we will all see her again.

GG was the best great-grandma ever! I will never forget playing with the box of toys at their house, picking the peaches off of Pawpaws best peach trees in the world, and eating all her butterfingers. I LOVE YOU!😘 

My first memory is spending the night with Gary and some black dog urinating on my speed racer pajamas, I believe that was her dog and my introduction to Ms. Veselka. 

Gary and I were inseparable after that and we spent a lot of time together. The lakehouse (Mr. Veselka made us dumpster dive after each trip), Farm (Greg made me assistant ranch manager), surfing (Ms. Veselka had to teach me to body surf because Greg would not let me use his board), and baseball games (I would entertain Ms. Veselka on my thoughts of women drivers as she drove us to the game).  She was always there tending wounds, making a meal, teaching me how to fish with a cane and a worm, and always with a smile.  

She wore a lot of hats, mom, sister, grandmother, wife, friend, and each hat has a life of its own for all of us to share.  My most vivid memory, she was always smiling (even to see me). Whenever I drove up (sporting my Safeway clip-on tie and a wolfish grin) and she was on the porch, a smile and a hug.  Smiling always, even with a driveway littered with Mustangs, boats, engine blocks, and kids. Only now with my kids do I fully understand, she was enjoying every moment of her life with her family.

I will always remember GG because she loved us with all of her heart. I love her so much and will miss her so much. I know she is up there watching us with Paw Paw. She will always be with us.

My great grandma (GG) always enjoyed our visits and we always enjoyed coming over and giving her big hugs when we got there and before we left. My visits to her house will always be in my memories. I would have never traded her for any other great grandma. My great grandma always talked to me and shared memories with me. I love my GG. 

This wonderful woman left her legacy in the form of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  There is not a more caring, loving family than the Veselka family and they are who they are because of "GG" and "PawPaw".  She was loved by all.  I am blessed to have known her.  May she rest in peace with her loving husband.

So sorry to hear this. I remember Mrs. V with very fond memories from Christ the King. 

Thinking of what a great Easter she had, resurrecting with the Lord. 

Please know that Mom and I will keep the family in our prayers. May God’s loving Grace grant y’all peace in your time of sorrow. 

Mrs. Veselka was such a sweet lady, I just loved chatting with her!!!  I knew Greg first because of my Dad and Greg’s friendship over their love for their Corvette’s. Then I met Mr. & Mrs. V and Gary, I was probably about 19. Gary introduced Jerome and I, 31 years ago.
 
Over the years of me popping in by myself or with Crystal when she was a baby she loved telling me what all the grandkids were involved in and how her kids were doing. 

After Gary passed she always got a tear when I’d come visit and I told her i felt so bad, I didn’t want to make her cry but she would say they were happy tears of good memories of me riding my bike over and watching Gary and I talking and laughing on the front porch (which was usually gossiping) or visiting with her & Mr. V.  Memories I’ll always cherish!💕

I know you were so happy to see Mr. V and Gary waiting for you!! May You Rest In Peace!🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻


I am the woman today because of my grandmother in so many ways. She always shared her love in purses and jewelry with me. Every Friday Till I was about 17 I went shopping with her and my mom then we would end up at Case ‘ole which was our favorite. 

Grandma, I hope your dancing to polka and gambling with pawpaw up in Heaven. I know your winning big right now. I will always miss you but always remember  I love you more.
