Cecilia was born to Basilia Lopez Ruiz and Juan Jose Navarrete Curiel on October 21st, 1952 in the city of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. She attended school in Mexico and later immigrated to the United States where she started a new life with her two sons, Ivan and Christian Navarrete.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Christian, Ivan and his wife Janet; siblings, Marichu, Rosario, Lupe, Jose, Norma, Angelina, Salvador, Lucia, and Josefina. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, Yurika, Edgar, Paola, Jesus, Rosita, Thomas, Evelyn, Evangelina, and Alejandro.
Cecilia is preceded in death by her parents, Basilia Lopez Ruiz and Juan Jose Navarrete Curiel; as well as her beloved brothers, Martin and Salvador Navarrete.
Cecilia worked early on in the restaurant industry as a waitress and later transitioned into the housekeeping industry where she worked diligently for a long period of time. With over two decades of hard work she earned the respect of coworkers and friends and received her citizenship in America. As a single mother she proudly raised both of her sons, Ivan and Christian Navarrete, watching them grow and prosper. A long the way she helped her sisters settle into America as they moved here from Mexico.
Cecilia enjoyed many hobbies and activities such as dancing, cooking, decorating, 1980's music, Disney memorabilia, movies and much more. Among certain things she was a big fan of Madonna and all things pop culture. Her family describes her as a gentle, loving, humble, quick witted, strong woman with a kind spirit. She always gave a helping hand to all and asked for nothing in return. Lastly Cecilia knew how to enjoy a good party and we hope that she will continue with this spirit in the after life.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ForestParkLawndaleFH.com for the Navarrete family.
