Cecilia G. Ralston, age 59 of Meadows Place, Texas passed away in her home on Saturday, April 10, 2021. She was able to share her love for, say goodbye, and encourage her family before she passed into her Eternal home only 20 days after her cancer diagnosis.
Born on February 27, 1962, in Pasadena, Texas, Cece was the daughter of Rodolfo C. Rodriguez, her father who preceded her in death, and mother Cecelia R. Rodriguez. She attended several public and private elementary schools in Houston and graduated from Sam Houston Senior High School. She attended Texas Lutheran in Austin and graduated with her BS from Stephen F. Austin University. She received her Master’s from Baylor University and graduated with a degree in Speech Pathology. Cece fulfilled her life-long ambition of becoming a Bilingual Teacher, Speech Pathologist/Diagnostician as part of her extensive educational career. She worked for both Houston Independent School District as well as several schools in Stark County, Ohio.
Cece was a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
She was a faithful servant of Sugar Land Vineyard Church, actively involved in several ministries, and especially enjoyed the two-year-olds.
Cece is survived by her loving, faithful husband of fourteen years, John Bradley “Brad” Ralston, mother Cecelia R. Rodriguez, brother Rodolfo Rodriguez Jr., and sister Carmela Rojas.
Cece was a loving and caring “Auntie Mame” to her nieces and nephews, Josue and Hannah Rodriguez, and Marcos and Daniella Rojas. She also very much loved the family she gained in Ohio when marrying Brad, including her godchildren. They also loved and will miss their sweet Aunt Cece.
Cece would tell you her relationship with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ is the most important part of who she became. She dedicated her life to serving Him as a missionary in several countries including Guatemala, India, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, and Scotland to name a few. She was a full-time staff member with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) where she met Brad. She also served alongside her husband for six years teaching the Alpha Class at Ramsey #1 Unit in Rosharon-- a part of the Texas Department of Corrections. She ministered to approximately 1000 inmates that she loved to serve over six years. In return, they loved, honored, and respected her dearly. She was deeply touched when the Chaplain of the prison had several inmates pray for her over the phone while she was receiving treatment.
Cece was an avid prayer warrior and loved the Prayer Station Ministry that she and Brad served in leadership with both in Texas and Ohio.
Some of the words that were expressed by family members to describe or say who Cece was are intelligent, faithful, adventurous, outgoing, friendly, obedient, loving, loyal, humble, discerning, non-judgmental, counselor, mentor, advisor, caring, friend, the spark in the family. Bottom line: Cece was the GLUE that kept everything together.
