Celia Ibarra Valdes

Celia Ibarra Valdes went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 10th after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Sombrerete, Zacatecas on October 26, 1939 to parents Teofilo and Maria Ines Ibarra, and was married to the love of her life, Rodolfo Almeida Valdes, for 57 years before his passing in 2013.

Celia was a wonderful mother who was a lifelong homemaker and took her job seriously. She enjoyed having her home in order, cooking for her husband, children and grandchildren. At Christmas time, she especially enjoyed baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren. She shared her love in many ways, especially through cooking and baking.

When Celia was not working inside her home, you could find her outside doing what she loved, working in her garden. She had a wonderful green thumb, and every plant seemed to flourish under her care.

Celia is preceded in death by her father Teofilo Ibarra, mother Maria Ines Ibarra, husband Rodolfo Almeida Valdes, and grandson, Pete Ryan Rocha. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Conde and Veronica Valdes-Molina; son-in-law, Felipe Molina; son, Rodolfo (Rudy) Valdes; daughter-in-law, Julie Valdes; as well as her grandchildren, Joshua Rocha; wife Yamel Rocha; Christian Ortiz, wife Kathryn Ortiz, Brianna Ortiz, Natalie Valdes, Rudy Steven Valdes and Daniel Valdes, and great grandchildren, Ruby Rocha and Aliana Rocha whom she truly loved.

Celia will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

A visitation for Celia will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
