Ceola Enard born March 10th, 1946, to the proud parents, Edgar and Lena Enard, in a small town of Arnaudiville, Louisiana, in St. Martinville Parish. Being the youngest of 12 siblings at age 4, after her father’s homecoming she, her mother and siblings moved to Jennings, Louisiana to be near her mother’s sister and niece.
Ceola achieved throughout her childhood to adulthood many dreams and aspirations beginning in Jennings Elementary Primary School, whereas she discovered her love and passion for what she called “PERFECT ENGLISH”, to enunciate and articulate, taught to her by an English Instructor from New York. Ambitiously, preparing for her later career as an English teacher.
As a part of the Senior Class of 1964 at Jefferson Davis Senior High School, she received the honorary title of Valedictorian, which inspired her to attend college. She had a serious desire to pursue as well achieve an educational career. She was well- equipped academically, very social success and was continuously encouraged and motivated by a host of extremely influential People. Receiving numerous academic awards, certificates and scholarships throughout Junior High and High Schools. In 1968 she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree (with a major in English and a minor in speech and drama) and later a Master’s Degree in English Education in 1976. For each degree she ranked Cum Laude amongst the most scholarly of her colleagues. Obtaining these precious gifts instilled by God through 2 prestigious colleges: Southern University – Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Texas Southern University-Houston, Texas.
Married September 8th, 1977 to Aubrey Andre Taylor, Sr. And to this union, lovingly and proudly Aubrey Andre Taylor, Jr was born on July 25,1980. The love of her life!!!!!
Ceola left her mark as she taught English, speech and drama at several high schools in Houston, Texas (James Madison High School, Kashmere High School, etc) and Freshman English at Houston Community College. She was fortunate to develop a writing Packet and Workbook TAAS which is called: The K-Ram TAAS Challenger.
Also, amongst, her many successes, her prized accomplishments would later be 9 self- published books that is on the market, online and the shelves of bookstores. One of her true joys was spending time with family and friends and attending church, whereas an active member of Grace Place Church until her health failed and was unable to attend. However, she continued to be a fervent prayer warrior and mentor to many.
Ceola Enard Taylor departed this life on Thursday, June 18, 2020.
Preceded by her parents: Edgar & Lena Enard, Sisters: Nola Holmes, Marjorie Enard, Hazel England, Rosa Lee Selmon, Ruby Mason, Jessie Arceneaux, Brothers: McKinley Enard, William Enard, Wilbert Enard, Edward Enard. Granddaughter: Aysha Harsha Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Aubrey Andre Taylor, Jr; Grandchildren: Aubrey Andre Taylor, III, Quincy Carter, Jeremiah Nick, Sister: Ann Hayes, a host of nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
