

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Betty Alabanza Ramirez, son Sgt Maj. USMC Pepe Ramirez (wife Rose & grandchildren Stephanie, Marcos (late), Adrian, Gabriella, Tony, & Pedro) and daughter Liza Wardle (husband Engr Scott Wardle & grandchildren Kandis, Colton, Secily and Zachary).
Cesar was born Feb 19, 1927, in Bontoc Mt. Province, Philippines and grew up working alongside Christian missionaries. He was commissioned into the US military in WWII and served from 1942 -45 as a Corporal in the 121st Infantry PS. Graduating from Mapua University and National University with degrees in Civil and Sanitary Engineering, Cesar eventually was hired by US Steel in Chicago, Il. He ultimately moved to Houston in 1978, where he worked as a civil engineer until retirement.
Known for his mild manner and extremely good nature, Cesar was a faithful Christian and a proud American. A formidable chess player, he loved to travel, was a long time member of the Ilocano and TAMA Clubs, was an avid dancer and loved to laugh with friends and family. He especially cherished his time with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-8:00 p.m., with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7801 Bay Branch, The Woodlands, Texas with rite of committal to follow in the Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
