Charleen Northey, 90, died peacefully on Friday October 5, 2018. A native Texan, she was born in Electra, Texas on April 25, 1928. She moved to Houston in 1946. She was active and supportive in all phases of her children’s lives including Brownies, little league baseball, pee wee football, cheerleading, and school chaperone. Charleen is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Bates and her only sibling, Darnell Wiley. She is survived by her children; Teresa Garza, Mary Beth Lawrence, Jack D. Northey (Jean), Charles Northey and son-in-law, Mike Bates, grandchildren; Andrea Conner (Daniel), Austin Bates, Rachel Bolton (Adam), Sarah Kelly (Eric), Travis Northey and Callie Northey, Great Grandchildren; Madelyn Kelly, Miles Kelly, Brooklyn Bolton, Parks Bolton and Avalynn Conner. Her grandchildren were special gifts and greatly loved. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 11am at Heights Funeral Home. Charleen was a Meals on Wheels Volunteer.
