Charlene Linda Mikulenka passed away July 8, 2020 in Waller, TX at the age of 82 years old.

Charlene was born February 26, 1938, in LaGrange, TX to Arnold and Grace Blankenburg. Later, her family moved to Houston where she met her future husband Bert, who worked at Mike Persia Chevrolet, the dealership where she purchased her first car. She loved working as a teller at River Oaks Bank for several years, then worked at the front desk in sales at Langwood Lumber for over 20 years. She retired in 2013, at the age of 75 years, and moved in a house on her youngest daughter’s property in Waller, to be close to her family.

Charlene loved her family, her grandsons, and she loved her pets. She believed in taking care of her family and belongings, and she strongly believed in honoring commitments and keeping promises. She was a genuine, hard working, honorable person, who will be missed greatly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Joseph Mikulenka, and her brother Larry Blankenburg. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Kimberly and Kevin Augelli, Sherri and Jeff Grosso, and grandsons Jeffrey and Michael.

I knew Charlene when she worked at Langwood Lumber. Every time I went in there she greeted me with a smile and a story. I did get a few laughs with her struggles during the "computer age"! It was a joy to know such a kind and loving person. Gods peace Charlene.

Aunt Charlene was an all around amazing woman. I will always remember the stories she would tell me of my great grandparents, that I was not fortunate to meet, but she made me feel as if I had. She would also tell me a different story every time I saw her about growing up with my grandfather LeRoy Blankenburg Sr. I will always remember the laughter and love this incredible woman would bring to every room she entered. 🥰💕
