June 24, 1947November 4, 2019

Charles P. “Chickie” George Jr., 72, of Cypress, Texas passed away on November 4, 2019 with his beloved wife by his side.

Chick was a fun loving man who was known for his wittiness, endless laughter and illuminating smile. If you knew Chick, you knew football was his life. He excelled at the sport and was a standout high school player who was part of the winning 64’ Glynn Academy State Championship Football Team from Brunswick, Georgia. He continued on to play in college at Wake Forest.

While not on the playing field, Chick served in the United States Army and achieved the respected rank of First Lieutenant before being Honorably Discharged.

He is preceded in death by his father, professional baseball player of the 1930’s and 1940’s, Charlie “The Greek” George, his mother Helen Pendergast George and sister Helen Dazet.

Leaving behind to cherish his memory is the love of his life, Brenda T. George. They would have celebrated twenty-six years of marriage on December 15, 2019.

His legacy will live on through his children; sons, Alex George and Charles P. George III (Jennifer) daughters, Natalie C. George and Paula C. Griffin (Rostyle) and step-children, Stacy Westmoreland and Greg Westmoreland (Valerie). Ten grandchildren and three step-grandsons. Chick’s siblings, Barbara Silfkin, Cathy Favet (Uncus), Mary Rogers (Jimmy) and David E. George and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends.

Chick loved life and was a caring man with the biggest heart. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to meet him.

Please join the family in remembering Chick on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11am in the Chapel at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. Teammates from the 64’ Glynn Academy State Championship Football Team will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

What wonderful times and memories when I think of Chick. Of course many of them were on the baseball diamond or grid iron. He was one of the best athletes I had a privilege to play with. But more than anything he was a good person. Always quick witted with a boisterous laugh. So much fun to be with. He also had a big heart - I saw that when Chris died.
Barbara your Chick will be sorely missed by all of us that were privileged to know him. He left such a positive impact on so many lives. My thoughts, love and prayers go to you and family.
With deepest sympathy - I am
