In Loving Memory of Chau Nguyen

Chau Nguyen passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by his loved ones.

Chau was born in 1944 in Cao Lanh, Vietnam. After the Vietnam War, he and his wife, Le Vo, made the difficult decision to leave Vietnam with their children and immigrated to the United States in the late 1970s. They arrived with hope for a better life and a brighter future for their family, not knowing what challenges lay ahead.

After arriving in America, Chau took whatever work he could find. He worked long and hard to put food on the table, provide for his wife and children, and give his family opportunities for a better future. Through years of perseverance and sacrifice, he eventually became a factory machinist, a career he dedicated himself to until his retirement.

Chau and Le shared 63 years of marriage and built a life centered around their family. Together, they raised four children and were blessed with 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Chau found happiness in the simple things in life. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his garden, and relaxing at home while watching Asian soap operas. He was a quiet, hardworking man who showed his love through his actions. He did not need recognition or praise. His greatest joy was knowing that his family was cared for, together, and happy.

To his family, Chau was their protector and their provider. He was the steady hand who carried the family through difficult times and kept moving forward when life was hard. He gave his time, his strength, and his best years to the people he loved. Many of the opportunities his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have today were made possible by the sacrifices he quietly made throughout his life.

Chau may never have thought of himself as a hero, but to his family, he was one. He was the kind of hero who did not wear a cape or seek recognition. He simply showed up every day, worked hard, carried his responsibilities, and made sure the people he loved had what they needed. His strength was quiet, but it was always there. His love was shown through everything he did.

Chau is survived by his beloved wife, Le; his four children and their spouses, Khanh and Thuy Van, Trang and Quan, Phuong and Alan, and Van and Nhithao; his 12 grandchildren, Alina, Aline, Theodore and his wife, Elizabeth, Theophilus and his wife, Meredith, Theokolos, Theologos, Diane, Nathan, Ethan, Johnathan , Thomas, and Evan; and his three great-grandchildren, Tess, Oliver, and Everett.

Chau leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured by money or possessions. His greatest legacy is the family he built, the lives he shaped, and the values he passed down through his example. He taught his family the meaning of hard work, sacrifice, responsibility, and love without ever having to say it.

Chau’s story is the story of a man who gave much of himself so that those who came after him could have more. He carried the weight of his family on his shoulders and never stopped moving forward. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will carry his story with them and pass his example on to the generations that follow.

Chau is now at peace. His work is done, his family is cared for, and the life he sacrificed to build continues through all of them.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A service will be held on August 14, 2026, at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home & Cemetery.

Visitation: 12:00 p.m.

Committal Service: 3:00 p.m.
