Chris Eric Reed, 45, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018. He was born June 22, 1973 in Houston, TX.

Chris worked in the motorcycle industry for 27 years as a certified master technician.

Chris lived and breathed watersports, motorcycles, and all things outdoors. He cherished teaching his son Zach to ride a motorcycle in the backyard at age 3; never tired of working on his son’s motorcycles or watching him race competitively over the years. He enjoyed traveling with his family; touring Alaska and sailing the British Virgin Islands being two of his favorites. He was the consummate animal lover! Most will remember his dogs Chewy, Wilson, and Harley who were all absolute members of the family. He reveled in cooking. He could often be found cheffing it up in the kitchen, or grilling out back for family and friends. He fancied himself a pepper connoisseur….the hotter the better. He and wife Tracie had quite the backyard pepper garden.

Chris is preceded in death by his sister, Terri Lyn Reed. He is survived by his wife Tracie Lynn Reed; son, Zachary Tyler Reed; daughter Adriana McGill; step-son Chase McGill; parents, Marilyn Reed and Jerry Reed; brother Craig Reed; niece & nephew, Faith Reed and Javier Trujillo; uncles, Leon (El Rey) Reed, Joe Brookman & wife Pat; cousins, Lee Brookman and Eric Brookman.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 10 AM – 12 PM in the chapel of Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 PM.

It will be 2 months tomorrow since we lost you. You and I had instant connection the first moment our eyes met. We knew it was the beginning of a journey that wouldn't always be easy but would be worth it. We never gave up! I love you and I know we will meet again at the gates of heaven and our love will pick right up again. Until then fly high knowing our love will always be with us. I am so blessed you chose me to be your wife and share the time we did together. Love and miss you dearly.

Our condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of Chris. Tracy and I have known Chris most of his life. He was very talented and gifted with everything mechanical especially motorcycles. We don't always know what the future may bring but we can always depend on the love of our God. May He bring comfort to those that knew Chris.

My Dearest Chris,
One of my best memories of you was the Christmas you dressed up as Santa Claus and surprised all the kids. You had this grin on your face that made our hearts smile, the kids couldn’t believe what they saw, it was truly amazing. You will be truly missed, I am so happy I got to see you and give you a hug two weeks prior, little did I know it would be the last time ever. Rest In Peace Chris we love you and we will never forget you.

My most cherished memory with you of course is the birth of your greatest gift to the world, Zachary. As Zachary’s mom, I promise to continue raising him in a way that you would of wanted. We’ve had these talks about Zachary and I will give him no less especially now. You are a great father, teacher, & despite life’s roller coaster moments we always had each other’s backs for Zachary. You Rest In Peace & keep him protected everyday, but especially on the track, because he’s as fearless if not more than you were & that says a lot. Till we meet again, We love you, fly high, let Zach feel your presence and have peace.
