Born on Christmas Eve 1985 in Houston, Texas, Chris lived his 39 years with an extraordinary blend of courage, loyalty, and joy that touched everyone who knew him. Beloved Son, Brother, and Uncle
Chris was the cherished son of Juan Jose Martinez and Valentina Martinez, and the beloved brother of Evelyn Crystal Martinez. He was a proud and devoted uncle to Liam Alexander Fenwick, taking great joy in watching his nephew grow. Chris was also a treasured member of a large, loving extended family that includes four uncles, four aunts, and twenty-seven cousins who continue to carry his memory forward.
Christopher is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Francisco Salazar and Gregoria Chavez de Salazar, and by his paternal grandparents, Honorio Martinez and Benita Lopez, all originally from San Luis Potosí, Mexico. He is also preceded in death by two aunts and five uncles, who all welcomed him home with love and whose memories remain deeply cherished in the hearts of the family. Their legacy of love and strength lived on through Chris's compassionate spirit.
Over the last several years, Chris chose to return home to be closer to his family. He devoted himself to supporting his parents, sharing in the responsibilities of the household, and being a constant, loving presence in their lives. During this time, he also embraced a special role in the life of his nephew, Liam. Though he had no children of his own, Chris was a steady father figure — offering guidance, patience, and unconditional love. His devotion to his family was one of the clearest reflections of his character: selfless, loyal, and deeply committed to the people he loved.

Chris's journey began in Houston, where his inquisitive nature and determined spirit shone brightly from an early age. A proud graduate of Milby High School in 2004, he continued his pursuit of knowledge at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his degree in Economics in May 2009. During his time at UT, Chris found brotherhood in Phi Iota Alpha fraternity, joining the La Mano Fuerte Line in Fall 2006 and earning the brother name "Ganas" - a fitting tribute to his unwavering determination and drive.
A Career Marked by Service and Innovation
Chris's professional journey reflected his diverse talents and commitment to excellence. From his early days in business operations and sales at Verizon to his work as a financial planner and life insurance professional, Chris consistently demonstrated his caring nature by helping others secure their futures. His expertise in technology led him to become an AWS Cloud Adoption Specialist at SHI International Corp, where he earned his AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification. Never one to limit himself, Chris also obtained his real estate license, always looking for new ways to serve his community and achieve his ambitious goals.

Chris lived by a beautiful philosophy that guided every aspect of his life: he believed in lifting others and leaving every place and person better than he found them. This principle shone through in his selfless nature that extended far beyond his professional life. He generously volunteered his time with school supply fundraisers, the Central Texas Food Bank, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Chris found joy in adventure, whether hiking scenic trails, practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or challenging himself in races - he proudly completed the Austin Half Marathon three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024, embodying his determined and focused nature.
His adventurous spirit led him to explore new places through travel, from pyramids to mountains and beaches, always eager to experience different cultures and cuisines. Chris had an appreciation for delicious food that brought people together and created lasting memories. Even in his adult years, he maintained a joyful connection to his childhood passions, including his beloved Ninja Turtles, reminding everyone around him of the importance of holding onto wonder and playfulness.

During his college years at the University of Texas, Chris developed deep, meaningful friendships with many people that would last throughout his lifetime. A celebration of Christopher's life will be held on November 14, 2025, with a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston, followed by a burial service at 3:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of the beautiful life Chris lived and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
