

Sister Cleo Shaw was born in Lake Providence, Louisiana on October 31, 1936 to Thomas and Colland McFarland. She was the youngest of five loving sisters. At a young age, she married Charlie Shaw. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. After moving to Houston, she served under the leadership of Reverand L.D. Fredrick at New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. She was a prominent member of the church and the choir. Cleo loved the Lord and loved inspiring others with his word. Cleo was the mother of eleven kids, whom she loved dearly. Not only was she a loving mother, Cleo was a very inspirational grandmother. Everyone she met, she always befriended. She spent her life helping others. She held various jobs throughout the years such as a cook, health care provider, and child care provider. She was a spectacular seamstress, baker, and chef. On March 23, 2017, Cleo was called home to be with the Lord. She joins in eternity: her husband, Charlie Shaw, Sr; her parents, Thomas and Colland McFarland; her four sisters, Therestha Lamb, Louretha Ratcliff, Johnnie Staten, and Rosie Galloway; her two daughters, Nancy Faye McFarland and Barbara Campbell; and two sons, Theodore Booker McFarland and Charlie McFarland, Jr. Cleo leaves, to cherish her memory: her two daughters: Theresa McFarland and Alberta Shaw; five sons: Willie McFarland, Otis McFarland, Abe McFarland, Douglas McFarland, Sr. and Joseph Shaw. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends
