Mr. Clifton Joe III

Clifton Joe, III (CJ) was born on January 25th, 1952 to Clifton Joe Jr. and Mary Alzina Jones. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and at the age of 4 he moved to Houston, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age where he attended a Catholic Church.

CJ attended Jack Yates High School and after high school he began working, but in 1974 he joined the United States Army. After the army, he worked several jobs, but was employed at JW Weingarten, where he met his lovely wife, Joyce Davis.

To this union, the family was combined with three children, Bridgette Joe, Marlon Davis, and Trina Joe. CJ, began working at Oak Farms as a truck driver and was promoted to a supervisor within two years. He left Oak Farms and started working at Pepsi Cola and later moved to Kerrville Bus Company (Coach USA affiliate) where he developed the love for transportation services.

In 1985, Joy Tours and Travel was founded and this was his pride and joy. His transportation services include, University of Houston, Rice University, Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, HISD, Contemporary Service Corp., Experience Houston, Joy Transportation Staffing and Logistics and many more. He lived a remarkable life filled with love, humor, and dedication to his family and community. Clifton was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and business owner. He touched the lives of many with his warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering support. He will forever be remembered as a loving individual who brought joy to everyone around him.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, Clifton Joe Jr and Elzina and siblings, Mary Elvira and Carolyn Martin.

CJ leaves to cherish his memories his wife Joyce E. Joe, and children Bridgette Joe (Anthony), Marlon Joe (Timisha), Trina Kyle (Bobby), sister Ava Nell Dever (Kenneth), brother-n-laws Larry Davis (Lisa), Anthony Davis (Phyliss) Alonzo Davis, sister-n-laws Gwendolyn Davis, Cynthia Swammy, (Mark) and Patricia Davis, 5 grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
