

Conrad Gordon Walton, Sr., 82, born June 18, 1928, in Houston, Texas, passed away December 5, 2010. He is preceded in death by his father John Edward Walton, Jr, and his mother, Evelyn Lucile (Gordon) Walton, wife, Rilda Walton and step sister Mable Colletti. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Gordon Walton, and his wife Laura Miskines Walton, Eve Lowey and her husband Eric Lowey and Robin Hensley; and his grand children John Walton III, Katherine Walton, Jared Lowey, Sarah Lowey, Jason Lowey, and Eric Hensley; and step sister Jean Woellert. He is also survived by his long time companion, friend and confidant, Trish Fadely and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to all of his loving caregivers.
Conrad was a 1945 graduate of Reagan High School. After serving in the United States Army, Conrad earned a BS in Architecture (Walsh scholar) at Rice University in 1951 and was a founding principal of DCW Architects. His designs included University of Houston Old Science Building, Texas Southern University Library, Blinn College Gymnasium, and Houston Heights World War II Memorial.
Conrad’s lifetime commitment to community service included being the past president of the Houston Great Books Council, Methodist Men, Binglewood Civic Club, Greenway Plaza Optimist Club and numerous leadership positions at Shepherd Drive Fellowship, a ministry of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held 11am December 20, 2010 at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church located at 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77079. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, Parkinson.org or the charity of your choice.
