

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Gladys; his children Curtis C. Thompson and his wife Shirley; Barbara Church and her husband Joseph, Linda Zientek and her husband Ronald, William Thompson, James Thompson and his wife Pamela, Marvin Thompson, Lisa Metcalfe and her husband Russell, Betty Rohan and her husband Brian; 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Betty Thompson and 8 siblings.
Curtis is a veteran of World War II, and was awarded an American Defense Medal, a Good Conduct Medal ,and a Campaign Medal with a Bronze Star. He is a native Houstonian and graduated from Reagan High School in 1938.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 30th from 6-8pm and Funeral Services July 1st at 9am, at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made for the preservation of the Houston Heights WWII Memorial Wall. Checks should be made payable to the Rotary Club of Houston Heights Charitable Foundation, Inc., and mailed to the Heights Rotary Club, P. O. Box 70228, Houston, Texas 77270. Donors should include their name and address, the name of the honored veteran, and the name and address of the next of kin to whom a note of thanks should be sent.
