Cynthia Ann Powell, a beloved and faithful resident of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 30, 2025, at the age of 73. Cynthia was born on June 18, 1952, and throughout her life, she was known for her generous, hard-working, and honest nature. Her inspirational and kind-hearted spirit touched the lives of many. She was patient, resilient, and thoughtful, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Cynthia was a devoted Mother to her two sons, Kevin Chance and Darryl Chance (Qing), and a cherished Memaw to four grandchildren: Megan Fisher (Kurt), Trevor Chance, Heidi Chance, and Kaden Chance. Her family was the center of her world, and she was a constant source of support and love.
As a member of the Foundry Methodist Church, Cynthia's faith was a guiding force in her life, reflecting her dedication and commitment to her community and loved ones. Her personal qualities and legacy as a devoted Memaw will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Earthman Resthaven, located at 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, on August 7, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, at the same address, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.
Pallbearers honoring Cynthia's memory will be Trevor Chance, Kaden Chance, Wes Powell, Uriah Powell, Jonathan Walker, and Kurt Fisher.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Hospital, reflecting Cynthia's generous spirit and her commitment to helping others.
Cynthia's final words, "God's deepest desire is that we let Him Love us and freely love Him in return.
