We remained friends and I loved having our catch up talks to update each other on our children, work and our life challenges. I will miss Daisy. I can hardly put into words how much you meant to me, but I want everyone to know the light and love you brought into my life. You were there for me during some of my hardest moments—standing by my side during the loss of my son and supporting me throughout my nursing program. I don’t know how I would have made it through without your unwavering kindness and encouragement.

I will always remember the days we spent together at the VA hospital—the laughter, the long talks, and the way you could bring positivity even in the toughest situations. You had a way of making people feel seen, understood, and cared for, no matter what they were going through. Your spirit, strength, and endless optimism were truly remarkable.

Thank you for being such a good friend, for your guidance, and for the countless ways you touched my life. I will carry your memory in my heart forever and strive to honor your positivity and generosity in everything I do.

I only met Mrs Coleman once for a very brief moment, we had come in town to experience Homecoming at PVU and had gone in the use the restroom at their home. Daisy was sitting on the couch instructing Rorey to invite us in and to get us a  seat but we’d only stop in to say hello and get some stuff from Rorey. That was plenty enough time to tell that this lady was so sweet and caring because she was fussing with Rorey about putting the stuff he was giving us in a bag as to make it easier to carry.
Now I didn’t know that she was sick I only assume she wasn’t feeling good that night but either way to worry about making something easy for someone else was a concern of hers while she sat in pain says a whole lot of how kind and caring she was. 
Now that she home with the Lord I’m sure she fitting right in…..

It is with a heavy heart I send this message, you all are in my heart and prayers. My dear friend Daisy will greatly be missed especially her laughter and gorgeous smile. She always had a sweet word to share and had the ability to bring joy where ever she worked.  I will miss our daily conversations and laughter, she was such a blessing to me. Be blessed and encouraged for the Lord knows our heart.

I meet Daisy through my daughter,Stephanie,.I grew to know her as a loving mother and wife. Daisey is a warrior,, woman of God that inspired those who knew her. She would send text messages to me often , that were uplifting, and inspiring. She was a woman of God that demonstrated perserverance and , encouragement during her fight. I shall never forget this beautiful woman of God. She demonstrated what it means to be a Christian; through the text messages and words of hope. We are both the proud grandmothers of “ Marley Coleman”. we decided three years ago that Marley would call her “”Nanny” and me, “ Granny”. We have celebrated our grandson’s birth and birthdays together. I have grown to love her son and daughter as though they were my own. She and Rory are great people. to my friend,” Daisy,” I will make sure Marley knows his “ Nanny” talk about remarkable person you were., how you inspired ,encouraged others though your faith, love, and courage. I want to remind the family that she is now at peace, no more pain.It is hard for us to let go of our love ones but know this beautiful woman touched all of us through her faith, strength, and perserverance. Rest in peace beautiful queen you will continue to be an inspiration to the world!

This hurts my heart. Daisy McDonald was a beautiful person. We grew up together. I loved her and her family. Omg this life is getting away from us. Daisy it is so hard for me but God knew best. I remember our fun times in school. The thing that stands out are our stepperette days. We were known as the bad girls. We got our name from the song and when people would see us they would say "Toot Toot hey beep beep".  We developed a friendship that lasted a lifetime. Rest in peace and love my sister. I will be praying for your family.  The last time we talked in  October for 3 hours not knowing that it would be our last time.  You will always be remembered for your smile and personality. I knew Daisy from our Jane Oliver days back in the 70’s, we attended the same high school, Class of ‘77(Home of the Cardinals) and played softball together back in the day(#Team Blue Jays).  Daisy was one of our outfielders who commanded her position whenever she was playing rarely missing a ball whether it was a pop fly, a one hop or a ground ball, you were just about gonna be out if you hit the ball anywhere in her direction.  I used to laugh everytime the coach would tell her that he wanted her to play somewhere else other than her normal position and she would just flat out look at him and say, “NOPE”, it would be sooo funny 😂😂.  
Although, she had her own biological sister, she would always refer to Belinda Jeter-Langel(2nd Baseman) and I(Left Center/Pitcher) as her big sisters in the softball world.  Unfortunately, we lost touch after she got married/moved away and I went in the military, but she would always be in softball conversations when talking about the Blue Jays and whenever I was home for UAPB’s Homecoming and I would run into Rory  I would always ask him about her and tell him to let her know that I asked about her.   When she became pregnant with her 1st child the softball team gave her a baby shower.  She named her son Martise.  I told her that I liked the name and if I ever have a son I would name him that, she just laughed and said ok girl and gave me a 👍🏽.   She never knew it, but Martise is my 1st born son’s middle name.   I don’t know what you were going through my friend or what you were battling, but you can take your rest now and may God continue to wrap His arms around your family and give them the peace that surpasses ALL understanding Philippians 4:7.   You will be truly  missed ❤️🫶🏽🙏🏽 🌹

We used to work together at the VA hospital for many years and became good friends as I ventured out on my own in my career. Daisy always lifted me up with scriptures and songs that hit my spirit at the right time, even when she needed lifting herself. We use to joke around and share many laughs. Always in my heart my sister. 🌹

God must have needed another Angel in Heaven because he certainly took one from us.  Daisy and I became friends while attending nursing school at Prairie View.  We both were LPN and worked in mental health at Ben Taub.  Daisy was my “big sister” when I pledge Chi Eta Phi nursing sorority at PV.  Daisy had a heart of gold.  She was dedicated to her family, friends, profession, and most important God.  August 2013, I moved back to Houston and was pleasantly surprised to find myself working with Daisy at the VA.  You can believe that was never a dull moment at work.  She had the unique ability to make everyone’s day better.  Daisy was beautiful outside and inside.  Rory, Martease, Dai’ja and the family I pray God provides comfort and strength to you.  I am going to miss my sister.  I love you all.

I had the privilege of meeting Daisy and her husband when I coached her daughter, Daija, in middle school.
Years later, Daisy and I reconnected through Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Zeta Gamma Omega Chapter.
She always made me laugh. She was sweet, kind, generous, and loved the Lord. She also loved our beloved sorority. She always sent words of encouragement to her Sorors, even when she wasn’t feeling well. I will miss our regular check-ins, conversations, and the good times we shared.
Heaven has definitely gained an angel.
I send my condolences to the family and will continue to pray that the Lord will give you strength and comfort in this difficult time.

To the family of Daisy McDonald Coleman..my family want to express our deepest condolences during this difficult time. I knew Daisy not only from attending school but my memories come from our softball days. We played on a team called the BlueJay’s for a coach name Jonas. Daisy was an outfielder and never really missed a ball came her way. She could run boy she would run scooped those ground balls up and fly balls. I just remember her having such a good spirit always full of fun to be around. She didn’t mind telling the couch what she wasn’t going to do and more than likely didn’t do it. But after she became a nurse she finally moved away and started her own family. I wasn’t in touch with her but always remember her and the times we shared. Once again to the Coleman family you all are in my prayers and may the LORD carry you all through..🙏🏽🙏🏽

Lord, you placed Daisy in my life first as a new employee at the VA Medical Center Hospital and she never stopped calling me, her preceptor, even after my retirement ,even as illness came that bond remain .  

You allowed me to help shape her hands as a Mental Health nurse at our facility and you shaped both our hearts through that calling    I prayed with her and for her, trusting you with each uncertain day, believing that no prayer was ever wasted 
    When  her strength fell and her journey on earth ended I released her back to you ~confident she was never alone and never outside your grace. 

I thank you for the holy privilege of being a friend walking with Daisy and that death does not have the final word. 

I was her preceptor. 
You were her savior. 
She is now at rest
