

Daisy Imogene Cossey 100 of Houston, Texas passed away September 5, 2014. Born January 4, 1914 to Walter and Julia Harris in Damascus, Arkansas. Daisy grew up on a farm with her four brothers and two sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, husband William Ernest Cossey and sons Fabern and Farrell Cossey. Daisy is survived by her daughters in law Lillian Cossey of Houston, Texas and Mildred Cossey of Cross Hill, South Carolina; grandchildren Joyce Cossey of Cross Hill, South Carolina, Michael Cossey of West Point, Texas, David Cossey of Mesquite, Texas, Cindy Collins and husband Nick of Burleson, Texas, Dale Cossey and wife Sonya of Houston, Texas, and Karen Cossey of Houston, Texas. Daisy was blessed with six great grandchildren Eric and wife Kety of Midland, Christopher of Houston, Nicholas and Jennie of Burleson, and Courtney and Kirsten of Houston; two great-great grandchildren, Caleb of Midland and Connor of Burleson.
Daisy married Ernest Cossey in 1932 and raised their family in Damascus, Arkansas and Knoxville, Tennessee. After their sons were grown and married, Daisy and Ernest relocated to Houston, Texas to be closer to their two sons.
Daisy was a member of Heights Presbyterian Church and a 50 year + member of the Order of Eastern Star. Daisy loved shopping and looking for bargains as well as traveling. She was always ready to go back to Arkansas and Tennessee to visit family and friends.
Daisy was known as an exceptional cook who enjoyed making homemade meals for her family. She was a generous woman who had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation will be Monday, September 8 at Heights Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9 at Heights Funeral Home with burial following at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
