Daniel Casares, Jr. (Danny) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 23, 2021, at the age of 65. Danny, a native Houstonian, was born on July 11, 1955 to Daniel Casares and Susie Shnur.
He graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1974 where he played on the football team and was a member of FFA. He even raised a pig named “Jessie”! Danny made lifelong friendships with so many classmates. He thoroughly enjoyed catching up with old friends during reunions and get-togethers.
Danny was a devoted father and his sons were the most important part of his life. He would always speak of them with pride as “My 3 Sons” and “My 3 Boys.” He was so proud of them. Danny’s 3 boys were lovingly by his side until the end.
Danny, just like his father, was a very hard worker at many jobs before he began his career at the City of Houston in 1996. He worked in the Code Enforcement Investigation Division as an Inspector. He loved working for the city, and he especially loved his co-workers. He was a jokester and had a supernatural ability to make people laugh. He seemed to have a nickname for everyone he loved.
Danny was very devoted to his late parents and to their care as they aged. He was a Cowboy at heart and a Momma’s boy. His Mom called him “Danny Boy” as a child.
He was a faithful member of Assumption Catholic Church in Houston, TX.
Danny is survived by the love of his life, Silvana Lou Casares; his children, Daniel P. Casares III, Blake Anthony Casares, and John Thomas Daniel Casares; grandchildren Zoe Nicole Casares and Noah Anthony Casares; siblings, JoAnn Feigenbaum and Patrick (Debra) Casares. Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Susie Casares; his brother Glenn Bernard Casares, and his grandson Daniel P. Casares IV.
Danny will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
