

Darius D'Andre Stewart will be remembered, not by the quantity of days on this earth, but by the quality of life he lived. His fun-loving, charismatic character brought joy and love to all who knew him. Darius was called home on Sunday morning, the 26th of January 2014. He went peacefully with no fear or apprehension. Darius was born on January 20, 1993 to Karmease Landry-Short and Derrick D. Stewart. Darius relocated to Houston, Texas in 2004 with this family. He was baptized in March 2011 and graduated from Alief Hastings High School in June of 2012. Darius was a beautiful young man, inside and out, who had a love for his family that exceeded all. A son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle and cousin, all of which he was proud to be. As a young adult, he loved his music, dancing and being around friends he cared about. Darius is now at rest with his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and will be forever and deeply missed by his family & friends. Darius leaves to celebrate his life: his parents, Karmease Landry-Short (Iverson) of Houston, TX and Derrick Stewart (Kristen) of Baton Rouge, LA; four brothers, Iverson Short, Keith Brossette II, Kameron Murphy and Isaiah Short all of Houston, TX; two sisters, Derecka Sanders and Darion Stewart, both of Baton Rouge, LA; maternal grandparents, Audrey Trammell and Jacque (Diane) Landry, Sr. all of Baton Rouge, LA; paternal grandparents, Bertha Stewart and James Stewart, both of Baton Rouge, LA; one niece, whom he cherished, Parker McCants, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Darius was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Earl Williams of Baton Rouge, LA.
