Darlene Cecilia Kelleher

Darlene was born October 21, 1926, in Des Moines, Iowa to Joseph and Blanche Gorsche.

She married Peter J. Kelleher on August 16, 1947. They were married for 54 years. They had 8 children: Peter (Jo), Kathy (Andy), Cecilia (Lynn), Becky (Dennis), Dan (Teresa), Sr. Theresa, Kevin (Marion), and Mary (Jim); 27 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. She is survived by one of her 7 siblings, her brother James Gorsche of Des Moines.

Her husband Peter, son Dan, grandson Paul, and great-granddaughter Serenity precede Darlene in death.

She was a volunteer for St. Christopher's Catholic Church, her parish for 55 years, serving in many capacities over those years. She worked for Harris County Health System Department of Spiritual Care, ministering at several Houston area hospitals.

She was a member of the 3rd order Discalced Carmelites and Marriage Encounter.

Visitation is at 6 pm and Rosary is at 7 pm, Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 8150 Park Place Blvd., Houston, Texas 77017.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Christopher's Catholic Church at 10 a.m.

Internment to follow at Forest Park Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, Texas 77023
