David Bourke, 44 years old, of Willis, Texas made his last wrecker run on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. He was born on July 19, 1976 and grew up in the Houston area.

David has spent his entire life in a wrecker. Once he was old enough he made it his career and truly loved what he did for 26 years. When he wasn’t in the wrecker, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. David had a larger than life personality who had never met a stranger. As we all know, he certainly had a soft spot in his heart for children.

To know David, you knew you had a real friend. He was a jokester that had a quick wit about him and an endless supply of pranks. He lived to make others laugh. Ultimately, David will be remembered as a man who would give you the shirt off his back and remind you that he was only a phone call away if you ever needed help.

David was greeted in heaven by his son Jake Horrocks, his father Eugene Bourke, maternal grandfather Thad Gills, and paternal grandparents Gene and Elsie Bourke.

Left to carry on his legacy are; his wife Tracie Bourke and his stepchildren Jacob McBride and Haley Hernandez; his beloved mother and father Dean Bourke and Jorge Elizondo, his grandmother Earlene Gills; his sister Kim Thompson and husband Trey, brother Rocky Bourke and wife Kacey and his sweet nieces Barrett and Brynn Bourke. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and his amazing tow family.

David will be truly missed by all who loved him.

Visitation will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 5pm-8pm. Funeral Services will follow on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 1pm in the Earthman Resthaven Chapel with his burial to immediately follow. Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Bourke, Trey Thompson, Thad Ray Pulley, Patrick Cortez, Rudy Meraz, David Belyeu, Bill Leonard and Jacob McBride.

Where to begin, You were always crazy funny and didn't care what anyone thought about it. Under all that tough exterior he had a giant heart and wore it on his sleeve. He was super close to his family and overprotective. Although time became distance between us we were starting to reconnect. I'll never forget our childhood shenanigans and crazy stuff we did. You were always in my heart and always will be. I'm glad you got the chance to meet my grandson, you were so great with him which isn't surprising because you were awesome with kids. You got a ton of family up there, don't be misbehaving. I'll never forget what you said to me at my nephews funeral about my brothers funeral and I promise I will do it just for you. Take care of everyone up there, and please watch over our family, they really need you. Love you very much forever and always. You and your family will always be in our thoughts and prayers. (I told you that you were always my favorite cousin❤) See you when I get there. Always, Jamie, Jose, Olivia, Joseph, Skyla, Raina, and Zaidyn.
