David Paul Luna
December 27, 1949 – April 26, 2021
David Paul Luna passed away at the age of 71 and went to his eternal rest on April 26, 2021.
David was born in Houston, Texas to Viola (Gonzales) and Salvador Luna on December 27, 1949.
He graduated from St. Thomas High School with honors in 1968. He attended the University of Houston as an Electrical Engineer student, but his college days were interrupted by the Draft. He enlisted in the United States Navy as a Corpsman in 1970 and served active duty for 2 years in San Diego.
After his Navy contract came to an end, he began to pursue his career in printing with a job at Kwik Kopy. He was with Kwik Kopy for several years and ultimately decided to launch his own printing company named Crossmark Printing which would later become Capital Printing. He, along with partners and dedicated employees over the years, had a successful printing business for many years.
During this time, he and Karen raised three beautiful children – Paul, Matthew and Monica. His children were his greatest joy and he was very involved in their many activities. He has one grandchild, Rayden Morales, who was a sparkle in his eye….he loved spending time with Rayden, going to his swim meets, taking car rides (Pops would let him stick his head out of the sunroof while driving around!), having sleep overs at Pops apartment!
In addition to his career and raising a family, David had many hobbies over the years. He enjoyed working on vehicles, including rebuilding an antique Chevy truck. He also was a charismatic dancer who could cut a rug with the best of them!
David was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Salvador Luna and also his sister, Maria Venarske.
He is survived by his children, Paul Luna, Matthew Luna and Monica (Luna)Morales and her husband Enrique Morales, grandson Rayden Morales, Karen Luna, three brothers and three sisters, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends for the Memorial Gathering on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd., Houston, Texas 77008. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation to your favorite charity.
The family requests that guests wear casual clothing and bright colors to the gathering to celebrate his life.
David will be sorely missed by all.
