David Scovel

David was born in Houston, TX to Vivian and Simeon Scovel and lived in South Houston for most of his life where he worked for his parents at the South Houston bookstore for many years. He sat at the board of the South Houston Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Rotary Club. David also enjoyed spending time at the family bay camp fishing and also going deer hunting. David was an active member of the Eagles lodge where he enjoyed visiting with friends and playing cards.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Vivian T. Scovel, father, Simeon E. Scovel, sister, Patricia A. Jaynes.

He is survived by his 2 daughters, Francine Scovel and husband James Wheetley and Patricia Scovel and husband Johnny Ramirez; 3 grandkids: Kyleigh, Jazzmine and Aleeah, sister Mary Norris and her husband Ted Norris, brother-in-law, Dicky Jaynes, wife Donna Scovel and her daughter, Melissa Conklin, and her 4 grandkids.; Also, Ex-wife, Vicki Hale, many nieces, nephews and many friends. Pallbearers will be: Richard Jaynes, Sean McQuiston, James Wheetley, Johnny Ramirez, Richard Norris, Robert Norris and Honorary Pallbearer: Denny Jaynes.

Viewing will be Friday, September 25, 2015 at Forest Park Lawndale from 4-9pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10am. Graveside service will start at 11:30am with the reception following in the Holland Hall Reception Room of Forest Park. Pastor Ron Nissen will officiate the services.
