David is survived by his daughter, Crissi Hansel and Tracey Mason; grandson, H.D. Hansel; mother, Mary Barker; brother, Gene Smith; step sister, Athena Fage and step brother, Ben Barker.
Visitation with the family began at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where funeral services began at 2:00 p.m. followed by graveside services and interment at Woolawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine, also in Houston.
