Delora Jackson was born February 23, 1944 to Woodrow and Hettie Lou Henderson. She grew up in the small town of Farmersville, Texas. Delora took full advantage of being the baby girl of the family until her two younger brothers came along making her now the “middle” child. Growing up, Delora loved music. She joyfully sung in the church choir and was the drum majorette of her high school band. Her love of music carried over into adulthood often singing backup for well known local artist. She became a pillar in the gospel community when she became a DJ on the Dallas community radio station. Delora received numerous awards and certificates for her dedicated service in the church. In her later years, she journeyed to Houston to be closer to her two grandsons. She became a member of Spring Antioch Baptist Church where she faithfully served in the choir and as “Mother of the church”. Delora leaves two sisters, two brothers, six children, and five grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all her loved ones; family, friends, and church members.
