Delores Ann Guidry

Delores was born to George and Irene Munoz, February 4, 1947, in Houston, Texas. She graduated from St. Pius X High school in 1965 and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of St. Thomas in 1970 and her Master of Education in Education from Sam Houston State University in 1976. She married Terry Guidry in 1975, where they lived in Houston, Texas and raised 3 children.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Guidry, son Terry Guidry Jr., son Troy Guidry, daughter-in-law Jennifer Guidry, six grandchildren, Courtney Guidry, Kyler Guidry, Madyson Guidry Sydney Guidry, Luke Guidry, Emily Sherrill and one great-granddaughter, Scarlette Guidry.

She also leaves to cherish her memory: her sister Jenny Keil residing in Huntsville, Alabama with her husband Paul Keil, sister Kathy O'Connell residing in Houston, Texas with her husband Tommy O'Connell, four nieces, Portia Keil, Michele Leaver, Megan O'Connell, Ashley Davis and two nephews, Tony Keil and Dustin Guidry.

She was preceded in death by George Munoz, Father, Irene Munoz, Mother, Christopher Todd Guidry, son and Jason Guidry, nephew.

Delores worked as a classroom teacher in Aldine ISD and Klein ISD for 15 years. She then served as an Administrator in Tomball ISD for 22 years. She believed that all students could learn and be successful through a positive and enthusiastic learning environment. High expectations for her students, faculty and staff were a requirement for success. She also believed that it was imperative that students begin early in education to build the mental processes students can use automatically and proficiently as competent thinkers. She enjoyed reading, dancing ballet in her early life, then going to ballets, Opera programs and singing in church choir in her later life. She was known for the love she showed to those around her, and she had a special place in her heart for all her puppies that brought her endless companionship and happiness. In her free time, she enjoyed collecting antiques, hosting tea parties for her granddaughters and spending time with family, friends and her teachers. One of her greatest gifts was her ability to hold a conversation. She loved to sit down, catch up and tell stories. Her relationship with her late mother, Irene Munoz, was especially meaningful to her. She also cherished the relationship she shared with her soulmate, Terry Guidry. She leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories that will never be forgotten. Although she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that the love she shared will remain with them forever.
