Delores Marie Weyer was received into her heavenly home with our Lord Jesus on January 30, 2015. She was the beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family, and touched the lives of many relatives and friends with her kind, caring personality and faith in God.
She was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, August 14, 1927, grew up on her family's dairy farm, and attended nearby Trinity Lutheran Church and school, where she was also confirmed and later married to John Weyer, her soulmate, in 1952. She and John had 43 wonderful years together, living in Mexico, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas and raising four children, who also attended Lutheran parochial schools, including St Mark in Houston where they moved in 1967. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper before retiring. Delores joyfully helped in organizations at St. Mark: Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Altar Guild, Ladies Circle, Stephen Ministry, Phase III and SPICE. She and John loved to sing and were members of the St. Mark adult choir and Houston Lutheran Chorale. She also loved crafting and giving away quilts with her dear friends from church.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers and one sister, husband John (1995) and son Jack (2002). She is survived by Cindy Ligon, Jack's widow, and their son David, son Jim, his wife Teresa, and their children Joshua and Jared, daughter Marilee, son Jeff, his former wife Michelle, and their children Brandi, Christopher and Rylie, and Brandi's daughter Emaleigh. We praise God for Delores' life and the promise of heaven to her and all believers in Christ.
Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1515 Hillendahl. Reverend Timothy Duerr, officiated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Mark Lutheran School.
