Dennis Gerard Furstenberg was born November 15, 1962, in Houston, Texas, to Justin and Margaret Furstenberg and died peacefully on March 26, 2016. He graduated from Milby High School in 1981 and was a life-long member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church.
Dennis lived his entire life in the family home in southeast Houston, and was well known for his commitment to recycling, even going so far as to pick up aluminum cans wherever he saw them on the street or in parking lots and bringing them home for recycling. He was friendly to
everyone he saw, whether he knew them or not, and always greeted them with “Hey, how ya
doin?”, followed by a recitation of whatever was happening in his life at that point. He was always interested in movies and classic rock music, having an extensive collection of CDs and DVDs.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Justin and Margaret Furstenberg, and brother, Paul Furstenberg. He leaves his memory behind with brothers Richard Furstenberg (Connie), Bruce Furstenberg (Cathy), sisters Ginny Goodman, Joan Furstenberg and Laura Paddy (George), along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins and friends. Special thanks to Patti and Robert Lambert and to the Bob and Betty Jones family for their support over the years in looking after Dennis.
