Derek Logan Patterson

Born on June 30, 1989, in Aurora, Colorado, Derek was the son of John Stanley Patterson and Rebecca (Becky) Jane Worth.

Derek earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Colorado School of Mines before pursuing a career in oil and gas. Derek was a member of Kappa Sigma.

He married the love of his life, Amanda Jo Patterson, on August 20, 2022, and together they built a life of love and shared dreams. Derek was a proud father to their son, Kaydn, who was his greatest little guy. He was deeply loved by his family and friends.

Derek will be missed by those who knew him—a soul for adventure with a quirky sense of humor and big heart. He enjoyed social sporting activities, like sand volleyball, bowling and scuba diving. Derek had a passion for travel and enjoyed visiting new places around the world.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda; his son, Kaydn; his parents, John and Becky; his brother, Ryan (Paulina); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.

Derek’s life and legacy will be remembered for the countless ways he touched our lives.
