

Don was born on March 6, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School in Houston, Texas, before joining the Air Force where he was based in Thailand during the Vietnam War.
As a teenager he began his love of working with all things mechanical and electronic. He received specialized electronics training while in the Air Force and continued in that field after his service to our country. Don retired as an electrician from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s Parker Dam plant. Following retirement he moved back to the Houston area and continued his lifelong enjoyment of fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Drott Robichaux of Corpus Christi; son Joseph Robichaux of Redding, California; daughters April McCluskey and husband Willis of Scottsdale, Arizona; Carrolyne Robichaux and Will Scott of Spring, Texas; grandchildren Willis McCluskey; Alyssa and Joseph Cooke; sisters Gayle Poe of Corpus Christi and Sally Scott and husband Neal; brother Larry Robichaux and wife Jane of Austin; and numerous nieces, a nephew, great nieces and great nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Robichaux.
The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the staffs of The Pines of Oakhurst Assisted Living Home and Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving care of Don.
A memorial Service will be held on January 27, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice or to the American Stroke Association (www.strokeassociation.org).
