Donald enjoyed wood working during his spare time, as well as playing washers down at the lake house. Mr. Vann spent his career as a welder in the sheet metal business. Donald went on to marry Opal Elaine Vann on June 19th, 1991.
Donald is survived by his wife, Opal Elaine Vann; son Donald Russell Vann Jr. (Dorlana); son Dwayne Robert Vann (Tiffany); and step-daughter Viola Thierry (John); step-son, Eddie Booker; sister Mary Helen Vann; grandchildren Doria Campbell (Brandon), Darah Orr (Tim), Dean Vann, Samantha Lindsey, Grace Vann, Deven Vann (Lisa), Kaden Vann, Shawn Thierry (Shea), Brooke Thierry, Patrick Thierry, great grandchildren Deven Vann Jr., Van Campbell and Matthew Thierry.
Donald was preceded in death by mother Mary Bessie Vann and father Robert Lucas Vann; sisters Ardell Evans and Robbie Mitchell.
A visitation for Donald will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, Texas 77060. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, Texas 77060. A committal service will occur Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, Texas 77060.
