Dorothy was born on a farm in Anderson, Texas to her parents Stash and Mary McClosky. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David Walkoviak, her daughter, Maxine Johnson and 9 brothers and sisters, Tony McClosky, Joe McClosky, Brosig McClosky, Max McClosky, Margaret Macejewski, Ann Kaleel, Verna Bartkovak, Helen Rutkowsky and Frank Fox.
Dorothy was raised on the farm in Anderson and graduated from Richards High School in 1940. She married David Walkoviak in 1941 and moved to Houston where she worked and raised her family, Maxine, Joe and Gene.
Dorothy was a devout Catholic and prayed her rosary daily. She enjoyed gatherings with family and friends listening to music and playing bingo with her sisters. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren along with her brother, Bud McClosky, and sons, Gene Walkoviak, Joe Walkoviak and wife, Donna whom she is survived by. Her family spent much time with her and were blessed to have been shown through her, a wonderful example of the Christian way of life. Her smile, her laughter and her joyful attitude around family and friends will be greatly missed.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a mass celebrating her life will be planned for a later date, so in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Pius X High School, 811 West Donovan Street, Houston, Texas 77091.
The family would also like to give a special Thank You to the staff of Brookdale for their loving care of Dorothy.
