She was a beloved wife, mother, and aunt who took pride in her early years working for the City of Houston. Dorothy lived in the same home for 60 years and valued her beloved neighbors as much as her family.
To celebrate her life, she leaves behind her daughter Terri Brown, sister Aline Brown, niece Regina Ligon, and nephews Kenneth Robertson Jr., Steve Brown, and Clyde Brown, along with a host of neighbors.
We all owe a special thanks to Joy Smith, Lisa Carpenter, and Michelle Cruz for keeping her in her own home for longer than would have been possible without such a watchful and helpful extended family, also known as neighbors. Her physical therapist, Connie Sanchez, kept her on her feet and mobile. Special thanks to Catherine Swilley for her many kindnesses to Dorothy and Terri, including being with them in Dorothy’s last hospitalizations and at end of life.
Dinah Massey's daily calls gave her something to look forward to every day. So many friends and family meant so very much to Dorothy.
She is preceded in death by son William Kimberly Brown, husband Harold "Bucky" Brown, parents Lawrence and Lilian Wisnoski and daughter-in-law Nan McTeer.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 27th, at 2:00PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery led by Fr Michael Jamail. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a pet charity of your choice, if so inclined.
